Vehicle Entrapment -Edgewood – Parkway – 20171219

Churchill Rescue was dispatched to assist Edgewood Fire Department at a single vehicle accident on the Parkway East over Braddock Avenue, December 19, 2017 at 03:33.

Edgewood 137 Rescue and Swissvale 278 Engine were first on the scene and found a single vehicle in the middle of the Parkway Eastbound on the bridge over Braddock Avenue.   A victim in the front passenger seat was trapped in the car and under care of   EMS personnel.   137 and 278 firefighters stabilized the vehicle and began extrication.

137 Engine,  122 Rescue, 122 Chief and 122 Squad arrived on scene shortly afterward and provided extra manpower to assist with remove of the front passenger door and B post.  This provided sufficient access for EMS to remove and transport the victim.

Units remained on scene to assist with traffic control and scene cleanup while Pennsylvania State Police investigated the accident.   Churchill units were released at 04:57
