Churchill Fire responded along with multiple other fire companies to a house on fire on Ridgecrest Road in Wilkins Township, Jan 7, 2019 at 0030. 302 Engine was the first unit on scene and 302 Chief established command with a confirmed working fire on the first floor of a split level house.
The crew from 302 Engine pulled a line and began an interior search. Churchill Rescue 122 was the next unit on scene and stretched a line from 302 Engine to the rear of the structure and began to attack the fire which was extending out a large window at ground level up the back of the house toward the eaves. After stopping the fire spread, they began to attack the fully involved room using CAFS Foam.
Once connected to the hydrant in the front yard of the building, 302 Engine supplied multiple lines used to extinguish the fire. The fire consumed the contents of the half of the first floor, with smoke damage throughout the house, and minimal fire extension to the second floor bedrooms.
Other units responding included 303 Truck, 137 Engine for RIT, 302 Service, 304 Engine and multiple squad units.
