Two Rollovers – July 2&5, 2021

Churchill Rescue responded two rollover accidents that occurred within 1/4 mile of each other July 2 and July 5, 2021.

The first rollover occurred July 2, 2021 8:16 am. Churchill Rescue was dispatched to a two vehicle accident on William Penn Highway with rollover and one person trapped. Wilkins 302 Chief was first on scene with a Jeep on its side in the middle of the intersection between Shop-n-Save and Midas. The drive was in the vehicle and was pinned by the steering while. Churchill 122 Rescue and Wilkins 302 Rescue arrive simulatenously.

122 Rescue’s Jaws of Life tools were used to remove the steering wheel and the drive was able to self-extricate through the Sun roof which had broken out during the accident.

The second rollover occurred July 5, 2021 0400 1/4 mile downhill from the prior accident in Churchill. 122 Chief and 302 Chief were the first units on scene with a sedan rolled over in the eastbound lanes of William Penn Highway. All occupants were out of the vehicle and under care of WHEMS.

122 Rescue and 302 Rescue cleaned up accident fluids and debris from the rollover.
