Churchill Rescue responded to a report of a two vehicle head-on collision on Beulah Road between Hampstead Road and Homer Drive on February 11, 2018 at 19:46 . On arrival, a SUV and minivan were in the middle of the road following an offset head-on crash between the passenger sides. All occupants were out of the vehicle being attended by Woodland Hills EMS.
Tow trucks arrived on scene to clear the vehicles, but were unable to separate them. Churchill crews using the 32″ Hurst spreaders and Hurst O-cutters to cut away and separate the vehicles working from both sides of the accident. The extrication was very time consuming due to the extensive damage of the two vehicles. It was ultimately determined that the tow hook from the SUV was interlocked with the sway bar from the minivan.
Crews were on scene 2 hours.
