Churchill Engine 122 responded to a reported commercial fire at the Western PA School for the Deaf in Edgewood on February 26, 2021 0038. Edgewood Engine 137 and Swissvale Truck 278 initially on scene found a haze of smoke in the building and upgraded to a full structure first alarm, adding Churchill 122, Forest Hills 153, North Braddock 207 and Penn Hills 227 to the assignment.

Engine 137 and Rescue 207 connected to hydrants on A and C side of the building, and a 1-1/2 attack line was stretched from Engine 137. After investigation, 137 and 153 firefighters shut off power to an electrical panel and turned the scene over the school staff. no ventilation was required.
