Churchill Rescue responded to a two vehicle accident near William Penn Hwy and McCrea Rd, May 10, 2016, 20:20 hrs. Edgewood 137 Chief encountered the accident while off-duty and notified County dispatch, reporting the incident involved two vehicles, with multiple occupants still in both vehicles with injuries.
Churchill 122 Rescue and Squad responded along with Edgewood 137 Rescue. None of the occupants required extrication, but fire personnel from Churchill and Edgewood assisted Woodland Hills EMS with patient care.
Multiple units from Woodland Hills and Penn Hill EMS responded, transporting 3 patients. Wilkins 302 also dispatched, but was returned while en-route by 122 Chief after no entrapment was found.
Units were on scene 60 minutes. While at the scene, Edgewood units were called to another incident in Braddock Hills, handled by 137 Engine, that was determined to be a false alarm. After returning to the station, while cleaning equipment, Churchill was called to a reported fire alarm on Churchill Rd, which was also a false alarm.
