Pricing Information
Depending on the type of work, I am willing to charge by the page (for straightforward editing projects), give you a quote for the whole project (for well-defined writing projects), or charge by the hour (for ongoing or open-ended projects).
Per Page Editing Rates
- Proofreading only: $5.00/page*
- Formatting only: $3.00/page
- All Proofreading and Formatting Services (not indexing): $7.00/page
- Indexing: $3.00/page
*This rate is for all proofreading services (logical flow, style, grammar, word choice, spelling). I am willing to negotiate a lower rate if you only want a subset of these services.
Please note: A "page" for billing purposes is any page that is more than half full with text. Pages that are less than half full will be added together to get an approximate full page count.
Also, the number of pages is counted at the start of the project, with the raw document you give to me. Changes that I make in the course of editing, such as deleting paragraphs or adding a table of contents, for example, will not affect the cost.
Hourly Rates
- Non-profits or individuals: $30
- Neighborhood/small businesses: $35
- Other businesses: $40
Quotes
Regardless of the type of job, I am always willing to give you a written quote. My quotes are based on the project description we agree on. That means if it takes me more (or less) time than I anticipate, you still pay the same amount. If you decide you want to expand or otherwise change the scope of the project, I will give you a revised quote.
If you would like a quote on a project, please send an email to me at info@papawritingservices.com with a description of the project:
- Length and type of document
- Type of services needed (writing, editing, research, etc.)
- Date needed
Payment
I accept cashier's checks, organizational/business checks, money orders, and PayPal. Personal checks are not accepted unless I know you.
I like to work on the honor system (I do the work, I bill you, you pay), but I have been burned a couple of times. Therefore, I now require a deposit of $20 or 10% of the job quote, whichever is greater.
