Technical Documents

Expert User Guide - software documentation, produced for YWaite Solutions, LLC. This is a small portion of a software documentation project. I had to learn the software, write the procedures for using the software, and develop both an organizational structure and visual design for each manual (there were seven manuals total). (524 kB pdf document)
Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training - teaching manual produced for Wellspring Studio. I was given some of the text and the photos, and designed the organization, layout and format of the entire manual. This file only contains a sampling of the pages; the full manual was nearly 200 pages.

DSSC Brochure - I was responsible for the design, layout, graphics, and content organization of this brochure publicizing an Engineering Research Center. (636 kB pdf document)
IES Information Sheet - information sheet, designed for Intelligent Electronic Systems, Inc. For this piece and the next one, I took an existing company logo and designed an information sheet for the company's potential customers. I discussed the content of the sheet with each client and then designed the layout based on that discussion. (84 kB pdf document)

Newsletters

These links are to a few samples of newsletters that I edited and/or redesigned, but did not write the bulk of the content. The links are to typical examples of the content and layout.

The Call - published by Christian Associates of Southwest Pennsylvania (CASP). I redesigned this newsletter in 2005 and was the editor from 2005 to 2010. The primary audience is made up of community religious leaders and supporters of the ministries of CASP.
Blue Pencil - published by Pittsburgh Chapter, Society of Technical Communication (STC). I was the managing editor of this newsletter from 2002 to 2009 and redesigned it in 2004. The primary audience was the members of the Pittsburgh Chapter STC.
Prison Partners - published by the Allegheny County Jail Chaplain's Office/CASP. I have been the editor of this newsletter since 2005. The primary audience is the volunteers, financial supporters, and affiliates of the Chaplain's office at the Allegheny County Jail.
